Yes. I will agree with you. When you put all the things that happen in a package we for sure could say that it was resentment. And from that toss in some self pity and extreme sadness for what should have been. Resentment could be at the bottom of all the wrong emotions. Not knowing how to deal with it so slam some shots and call it a night.

Alcoholism is the only disease I know that kills people who don't have it.

Hypochondriacs never claim to have it either, wonder what that is about???

Sorry to sound like an anorak (Brit-speak for 'nerd') but there's very strong evidence linking alcohol intake with risk of developing cancer. Ealier this month (April 2011) a significant research project was published in the British Medical Journal. The researchers looked at the incidence of cancer in more than 350,000 Europeans recruited between 1992 and 2000. They found that 1 in 10 cases of cancer in men were directly linked to alcohol consumption. Overall, 3 percent of cancers in men were linked to drinking more than 24g (0.85oz) of alcohol per day. Women's risk increased with lower intake levels.
Cancers of the pharynx, larynx, and oesophagus were most commonly associated with alcohol, followed by cancers of the liver.
Sorry for all the detail, but I am a human biology teacher!

Simon & Garfunkle

To MsCooterBrown - I'm pleased you spotted the S&G lyric. I have always related to 'The Boxer', and that line seemed rather fitting here.
Regarding the negative consequences of alcohol - I fully agree with your sentiments. Ultimately, alcohol is a poison and can wreck lives through hundreds of different ways. However, I have personally found it helpful to reflect particularly on the biological health consequences of boozing. I'm now on Day 7. Last night was the toughest so far.

I hope you have a better day today. The first 3 weeks were a roller coaster ride. I didn't seem to struggle much after that. Hang in there...it gets better and better and is so worth it.

For me, drinking & smoking went hand-in-hand, especially the hard stuff. Three heart attacks later, by the grace of God, I finally got rid of both.
