Thinking About Admitting Myself To The Hospital?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how do you go about admitting yourself to a hospital for alcohol treatement and depression. because i'm am so depressed lately, and i've hit a point where i just really think i need some help. i'm not myself, i'm so out of it all the time. the drinking and the drugs. i need help. what kind of hospital would help me out. should i admit myself to an alcohol treat ment center, what are these places like? are they expensive. i have insurance through my husband, so i could afford a hospital stay. or what would happen if i went to the crisis center,, would they put me in the hospital, how long would they keep me for. i just want to get better, get help. i'm getting so lost in this world of alcohol and drugs. i want to be happy. i feel so out of touch with myself. if any one has any information on any hospitals or good rehab detox programs. thanks every one.

What I did may not be the greatest plan, but it did work. I went the ER and told them I felt suicidal. (Which I did.) They did not let me out of there until a treatment plan was in place. It took about six hours, but they knew all about local treatment centers and how they worked with insurance. Once I said the "S" word, I set in motion some things that had to play all the way through. I am not sure I would have had the courage to get the help I needed without taking a step like that.
Good luck pink, getting sober really as good as the folks around here say.

Detox centers in Wausau, WI:
3 Detox and Drug Rehabs in Wausau WI - Detoxification
If these don't work, please check into Aspirus or St. Clare's. At the very least, they'll take you to an appropriate rehab center. I was just at St. Clare's a few weeks ago, and they took great care of me. Please go!

That sounds like an excellent idea. JTele offered some great suggestions, but I would say that if you are confused at all, just GO RIGHT NOW to your nearest ER and tell them what's going on.
They will help you detox, they will talk to you about treatment options available with your insurance, etc. I think part of what might be important given your history is to go see *someone* ASAP while you are recognizing the gravity of the problem, before you have a chance to talk yourself out of it.
You are doing the right thing. Your children will thank you and I'm sure your husband will too. You can beat this disease and be the sober mom you were meant to be!

You need to tell them the problem.....be honest! They'll admit you and give you whatever meds necessary to calm anxiety or any thing else that might be threatening. I can't tell you more, for I'm not a doctor, but if you seriously need help, just do it.
I hope you're really serious this time. I don't remember ever reading about you doing drugs as well, and the way you drink, that's a pretty lethal combination. JTel gave you exactly what you asked for. Go to one of those facilities NOW before you start giving yourself excuses why you can't go.
You've asked for help soooo many times, and every time, you get really great advice and information. Just walk in Pink. Once you're there, take a deep breath and take it one day at a time.
I hope you make it in tonigt.

Should there be any "ifs" here? If you need help, please go!
Pink, I've tried to help you before, and I don't live all that far from you. I know Aspirus and St. Clare hospitals well, and they'll take very good care of you. I promise!

I hope both of you - Pink and Irish Eyes - will go get some help.
Break the cycle - the best way to do that is action.
You both have my prayers and best wishes - but please...follow through with something.
