Police When Driving
Last time I was pulled over was about 2 months ago. Just after dark and a county sheriff hit his lights and pulled me over. I was positive I hadn't done anything wrong. It has been over a decade since my last drink.
The Deputy walked up alongside my car, shined his light in my eyes and said, "Just wanted to say hi, and tell you I love you. I know there hasn't been any drinking and I am so grateful for that."
As he walked away he said, "Have a good night, Dad."
My son has been a deputy less time than I have been sober.

Even after 7 yrs of soberity , I still get the sweaty palms and nervous gut , when I see the law behind me , Was just a topic of conversation the other day while the Mr and I were outta town . I mentioned to him the same thing .. Its funny how we get nervous seeing one even after yrs , I think its just a natural responce to seeing the law on our tail .
just something I mentioned to ponder .. we have to renew out tabs on our plates each yr .. does the law do the same thing ?? If so .. does one law officer pull over another for not having its tabs ?

It has always freaked me out anyways! I've always felt 'oops I'm in trouble here' - paranoia!!
that being said I have been pulled over completely sober but never when I was clearly waaaaaaay over the limit. I am so ashamed now because obviously it was a serious risk to other people, ti would prolly have been a good thing if I did get pulled over - luckily nobody got hurt!

Yah I get freaked out. I usally freak myself out, I drive all the drunks home at family parties sometimes if i decide to go home, or i will just be the cab when they need a ride. I always see the cop cars, driving slowly 11pm-dawn. I get up early 4 times a week and hit the gym at 5am. I see the police doing rounds but i am only freaked out because i need to get my car inspection for 2011- and don't want to pay the $80.00 ticket. It still freaks me out though. Drive safe and stay safe.

Just making a point that everyone (as far as I know, anyway) are "for real" on here and I am glad to have found myself here.
