How many AA meetings do you average a week??

I was just wondering something. When I first got back into meetings, I was going about 5 times a week. Now 5 months later, my meetings have dropped to about 1-2 a week. It's just hard to make it to so many meetings working full time and studying for my PhD, along with all the other stuff that I have going on in my life.

I was wondering how much sobriety time vs. how many meetings everyone usually attends.

For well over a year...I went daily...before work
to my home group...adding others often.
I did not count.

Circumstances changed over the years..I find that 3 a week
keep me in emotional balance. ..

For me...meetings are vital....glad I enjoy them...

I go to the same two meetings a week, almost without fail. (Rarely I will have to miss one for some reason.) I also frequently (once a month or so) take on a speaking commitment.

In the beginning, I went to 90 meetings in 90 days, and for the first year I think I averaged four or five meetings a week.

I'd say I've been averaging 6 per week since stopping. The only day I actively plan on not going is on Sunday. Every other day I go to one, and there might be a day through the week when I hit 2. Not sure if I will keep this many up forever, but it's working so far so I'm gonna keep it up.

I don't go to AA meetings and haven't in years. When I was new, I did go to AA; probably six meetings a week or so for the first 2 years, then tapering off to 2-3. Now I attend an occasional SMART Recovery meeting.

I also went to allot of meetings my first few months. But I was in the same boat as you, and was ready for something to change.….so I finally found myself a sponsor who helped weed threw the meeting schedule with me. We picked a step (woman’s) group as well as a big book study. I even choose a speaker meeting. Those were and still are my main meetings…and I fill in where and when w/ others. Sometimes I just go to the 3 but other times ill hit more….all depends on what’s going on in my life and where my head is with it all….

I'm a little over a year sober and two years into the program. I started out at about 4 a week, now I am at 5.

Stugotz - how did you get into a woman's meeting?

My first meeting was just last night. My plan is to hit at least 4 a week. Although my recovery is extremely important to me. There is just now way I would be able to fit more into my schedule. I wish I could!

High heels and a skirt, how do you think?

He's kidding. (I hope--the beard might be a dead giveaway.)

Actually, though, in order to be an official AA meeting, no one can be excluded. If you desperately needed a meeting and the only one available was a men's or women's meetin (or gay/lesbian or any other special purpose group), you would (hopefully) be welcomed.

I was rushing around one night desperate for a meeting and walked into a Womens meeting that had already started. I backed out slowly. All I can say is that I was scared... very scared............

232 days clean and sober today. I haven't kept exact count, but I have attended more than 232 meetings all together. I have some meetings I go to regularly. Four AA meetings and three NA meetings a week. I don't see this changing any time soon.

I got out of treatment a year ago this week and have averaged at least six a week. I am unemployed so I go to an 8am weekdays, it gets me out of bed at a work-like hour (6am) and I like starting my day with the serenity and fellowship. Weekends are a little less regimented, depends on whats going on with my gf whether/when I go, but usally I go both days.

Too funny!

Hey, it's not like you walked into the Ladies Room, with all that unfamiliar plumbing.
