We get to play with our guest artist again tonight!

This time, I'm excited, not apprehensive.

Wow, that is awesome that is went so well. Congratulations. I imagine it must be difficult if your job/passion puts you in charged environments often and being able to get through it must make you feel strong. I quoted the thing above because it reminded me how when I first stopped drinking and when I was a drinker I thought the whole world drank and drank a lot. I couldn't imagine people passing up drinks, not drinking, having quit, etc. I had one friend who had never in his life had a sip of alcohol and I thought he was some sort of freak of nature.

After having lived sober for a small bit of time I am learning more and more how warped that view was. There are people in recovery everywhere I turn. There are people who barely touch alcohol when at dinner parties and there are people who just don't drink. They aren't abnormal— more like I was towards the abnormal side of the scale. It just is really comforting the more you realize that the world is not full of people drinking all the time and others, people you admire, can stay sober with you.
