Are Alcoholics Misunderstood?
I don't worry about people not understanding me, I work to understand others though so I can be tolerant and pass that on to my children.
All I can do is educate those who have an open mind and pray for those who have a closed one.

Hi gang.
This thread and the things I've said have been weighing heavily on my heart. I think I need to add that accountability for the alcoholic is of paramount importance and, having said that, society doesn't have a responsibility to learn the alcoholic...
...rather what a world to live in if that were true.
I stand by my points but apologize for my assertiveness (even I look back and think, "damn that may have been abrasive.") - it's just who I am.
Just livin' the dream.

One thing that creates backlash.
It seems like evey time a celeb gets caught doing something bad, they check into rehab.
Then, people say.... ' another person using alcohol as a an 'excuse' for their bad behavior.'
