Well, here goes..
Every alcoholic is different and every detox is different, for me it was the 3 1/2 day mark before the DTs started to overcome the meds, but I was in a detox facility, they saw what was happening and they simply upped my meds!
Do not let your pride possibly kill you, booze is not the answer to detoxing when you have a medical alternative to it.

3 days I think now.
I know a lot of people say 'see a Doctor' 'Go into Hospital'.
Believe me, I'm not new at this, if i thought I was having a physical or psycological adverse reaction I would be in there in a shot.
The last few days have been a very calm period for me though, no shakes except the first few hours with the hangover, no hallucination, no high blood pressure ( I had this tested friday and am booked in for another monday ).
No detox is easy, but after the first day ( and believe me I've been through a few ).
This one is a much more relaxed and accepting state of mind than any other.
Now I want to clarify :
If you've never detoxed before, DO NOT DO THIS.
Go to your doctor, get into a Detox program and do it PROPERLY.
The first time I detoxed I would never have made it on my own.
So DO NOT GET LIBRIUM AND DETOX ALONE IF YOU DON'T KNOW THE RISKS.
Detoxing is always, always, different for everyone.
I'm not sure if this is allowed but I'd like to add some UK groups you can get in contact with.
1. Your Doctor ( obviously )
2. Heartsreach
3. CDAT.
You can google them in the UK and they WILL help.
