Grateful for actually getting a speck of work done yesterday. Grateful for more structure from now on--and hopefully more growth.

Grateful to wake up with a clear head, a happy heart, and a reminder why drinking is so destructive.

Grateful my brother and family invited me overnight to their campground on the beach in OC MD. (Hi Grtgpa!) It is amazing how much better I feel that I have somewhere to be on a day off.
(Hi EQ) I am sorry you will not be in Ocean City next weekend to welcome the thousands of sober alcohloics who will be celebrating sessions by the sea.

Many will be there all week for vacation and spending money on everything but alcohol and drugs.

Have a great time EQ.

Grateful for sobriety that let me do what I need to do yesterday.
Grateful for an unexpected piece of good news that solved a problem before it even became a problem.
Grateful for an unexpected phone call that was just plain nice.

Grateful for Sunday mornings, they're so much more special now I wake up well rested and clear headed.

Grateful for the opportunity to go to my local Methodist chapel this morning, it helps to refocus my intentions for the week ahead. As a bonus, if there's communion it's always a non-alcoholic wine, how cool is that?

Grateful that the sun is shining both outside and in my heart, I feel blessed to have found SR, I would never have made 19 weeks of freedom from alcohol without it.

God could and would if He is sought

Grateful for my great sober life today. Reading 2 great books that define we special people:

"A New Earth-Awakening to Your Life's Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle, and "I'll be Back Right After This" by Pat O'brien.

Grateful that at age 82 I can still see, and read and understand when so many elderly are suffering with dementia or worse.

The gift of recovery is not to be taken lightly. Thank you God.

Grateful that I will be returning our little foster cat to his owner today, he's a sweet fellow (the cat), but he's somehow managed to completely takeover the entire house and garden!

Grateful for bird song this morning.

Grateful the books grtgrandpa has mentioned, I'm going to take a look.

Grateful for another Labor Day for my offspring and friends to enjoy the holiday.

Grateful that sobriety has allowed me to live long enough to enjoy every day as a holiday.

Grateful to be able to choose what positive activities I engage in today.

Like my Antipodean friend, Marcher, I am grateful it's September. Sunlight in September can be fabulous, the weather is usually fairly gentle and autumn colours are amazing. Yay!

Grateful to be choosing plants later to put in our new landscaped borders

Grateful for a feeling of serenity

Grateful to be an example of sobriety for people in my life who have no such examples.

Grateful I never let shame win.

Grateful I decided the first sober day that if I was going to do this that the only way to succeed was to give my deep and seeming perpetual shame no room for purchase.

Grateful as a result that slowly over time my shame was starved of food, like a tumor cut off from its blood supply, and it withered and dried up while the rest of me has slowly flourished.

Grateful to see some new blooms in my garden this morning.
