gleefan's daily gratitide
I'm adding a gratitude reflection to my daily routine. Sober living can be difficult. I write a lot about my challenges, and find it extremely therapeutic. Sobriety is so good though!
Today I'm grateful...
- for my family
- for being an alcoholic
- for 75 days alcohol free
- for SR
- for SR's undies thread
- that my confidence is growing when I am dealing with my coworkers, especially my peers.
- that I'm learning how to draw boundaries with my needy friend
- that I'm setting gentle goals for healthy eating and exercise, emphasis on gentle.
- that I'm learning the difference between obtaining spotlight and possessing inner confidence.
- that the teachers on my kids' educational teams are kind, honest, and smart.
- that it's Friday.

Good on you...and what a list!
75 days is great! I enjoy journaling now, to keep motivated, but also to see when I have bad days, it never, ever, compares to how worthless and lifeless I felt when drinking!

I'm thankful for
- 76 consecutive days alcohol free
- being an alcoholic
- SR
- TV's sense of humor
- My inability to be quick witted as the result of my post acute withdrawal word recall deficit. It keeps me out of the spotlight - and kind. Kindness is good.
- ER and TV, who showed me they cared by defending my "honor" with a person who started a smear campaign against me for her political gain.
- JS, who showed me he cared with a thoughtful little present.
- Jillian Michaels, for her 25 minute workout DVDs that are chock full of affirmations.
- Recovery, for building my mental moderation muscle, and recognizing that it's ok that yesterday I only ate processed junk food. I can go back to fruit, veggies, lean protein, and a small amount of gluten free grains today.
- hubby, for tidying the kitchen while I was out.

Today I'm thankful....
- for 78 consecutive days alcohol free
- for my family and friends
- for my job
- for my 7am conference with a client who has a calm, gentle, quiet demeanor
- for realizing I could find balance in my lunch by packing one piece of bacon and pepperoni pizza and a big salad. For practicing that healthy eating doesn't need to be all or nothing.
- for alcoholism and recovery for giving me the courage to practice balanced eating.
