staying sober---a long recovery
[SIZE="5"]I was extreamilly shy in my high school years. When I graduated high school, I entered college and for the time in my life was invited to parties where I experiment with weed and alcohol. I was no longer shy, but it was the begging of my battle with the bottle. My first awaking came when I was arrested fo Public Intoxication Disorderly Conduct and Indecent Exposure. I was in jail for a month. After the arrest, I sober up and remain sober for a long time. The death of my parents and unemployment have push me over the edge again. Right now, I am sober for the past three days. I just dont know what will happen tomorrow-- I might stay sober or fall of the wagon again..

Hi Hector,
Keep strong and believe that you can beat your addiction. I've been off booze for over two years now and have never relapsed. I think the secret is to give yourself choice, for example. "I choose not to drink, I know I could if I wanted to, but my life is so much better without it...
If you give yourself choice you don't start an inner war where you are battling with the voice of your addiction.
For me choice means freedom.
Take care and good luck
