I Was In a VERY Different Place Five Years Ago
Hi Everyone ~
My name is Nancy and I am new to this forum and very grateful to be here.
I was in a very different place five years ago and I would love to share that with you.
July 9, 2003 – I placed my last bet in a casino. It was my Daughter’s Birthday. She received no gift because I had no change! That was the number one causative effect for me to stop once and for all.
I was financially bankrupt, spiritually bankrupt and had lost my home and marriage of 16 years. I had lost much more than a home and a marriage. Somehow in all the chaos, I had lost myself and what was most important to me in life. The loss of time and life itself.
I knew that I needed to change and change but quick. I also knew those changes needed to come from within me. Whatever it took, I was willing to change. You see when the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the changing itself, that is when we change. I immediately immersed myself in a 12 step program and in the study of personal development which was one of the largest instruments of my change!
I am grateful that my life has changed so much today. At the very least I certainly have enough change to buy my Daughter a birthday gift everyday!
As life would have it, it was never about the money.
Have a wonderful day. You deserve it!
Nancy
