I'm just posting a quickie here so that I'll be subscribed to this thread.
On this past Sunday, it was a year since my beloved Patsy cat died. I still miss her, of course, but the other pets are doing well and are definitely a source of great comfort.
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Sorry about your pet Eddie. I'm glad you have others to help fill some of the emptiness you might feel for awhile.
I have a pup who just turned one on March 17th. I love him sooooo much. I so regret that since I didn't sober up until September, I don't remember much of his earliest months in life.
Today, I just looked him in his big brown eyes, and I told him that I would make sure he was the happiest pup who ever lived. Even if it means allowing him to stretch out on the sofa 'till his heart's content or hog the bed.
And I just swore that if I could ever hear him laugh (imagine that), I would die in total peace and contentment.

Those are beautiful tender sentiments, Autumn!! Thank you for sharing them. What kind of pup is he? You saying you want to hear him laugh reminds me that I sometimes wish my dogs could purr. LOL.

I remember when you lost Patsy I still think about our rotties on their heavenly anniversaries.
Here's our current hound-doggies:
Dakota (front), Boss (lounging), and Ty (curled in his corner)

Aw, they're wonderful, deedee!! I have a black Lab, too, although she is more of a grey Lab now with lots of white on her even though she's not that old. I'll have to post a picture later. Now is bedtime!!

Those are beautiful dogs, Deedee, but do YOU ever get to sit on that couch?
And...grand-dog?
Here's Toby's new "domain", he's such a control freak and has to "own" the whole place, although I think he's in love with "Bella" the grey tabby next door. And he's not terribly fond of being on a leash, but until he's familiar with everything he's gonna stay that way. We walk with it and he's fine but he doesn't like it on the deck.
Here's his grumpy look, still miffed about the leash and won't pose for anything. I ask ya, have you ever seen such a rude look? Control freak, I tell ya!!

Yes, radiant, Ann!! Toby looks like Agatha when she gets "airplane head." You know, when they fold their ears back like the wings on a plane? Agatha is the mistress of looking pi$$ed off. I'll have to catch that with the camera, too.

Toby has many facial expressions, he can smile and he can purse his lips like he did in the picture and just look annoyed to death. His eyes too, they can be squinty like the picture, or big as saucers when he wants something and goes into his "cute" look.
His ajustment to moving is amazing. Lots of new birds and animals here. He is respectful of the foxes (and they of him), is curious about the groundhogs (too rodent like I think), and doesn't know what to make of large geese and great blue herons that walk on the little beach in front of our place.
Last night my neighbour and I were watching the foxes (mom, dad and 4 babies), and I was taking pictures and Toby was quite bored with the whole thing. It's an ongoing nature show here, and we're both enjoying watching it all happen every day.

They're beautiful, Ann!! Thank you so much for posting that pic!! Most of the nature show around here is the "presents" that Marcel leaves on the porch or tries to bring through the window. LOL. This morning, there was half a squirrel by the front door. !!

Ewww. Toby hasn't brought home a critter since I attached 3 bells to his collar. He always brought them home whole and not gruesome (he's well fed and probably didn't know what to do with them once he caught them).
Bells are a good solution,
Bells are a good solution,
Oh the grumpy look on Toby! Priceless-lol My cat, Sophie-Grace does "distain" with the talent of an academy award actress! I pet her and she gives me "that look" and then washes the offending part of her body that I touched. -lol Cats really help me get my ego back in check!
I learned something...foxes bark, LOL. Toby sits up and gives them "the look", nothing more and yesterday the daddy fox just looked back and barked, then went on his way. Perhaps he was saying "hello", perhaps he was saying something else
