It's Hell In The Hall
Goin' cliche here kids...
When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window.
Meanwhile...it's hell in the hall.
It's hard when those doors close.
And it feels like forever until the window opens.
Sending out some light and love to anyone who feels like they're stuck in the hall.
The window opens...I promise.
Keep the faith.

A window always does open Gabe, but sometimes we have to look hard in order to see that window. I used to see those open windows and think that they were meant for someone else, not me! Now, I expect a window to open and it always does.

Someone, I think it was Daffy, once told me that the hall is a good place to rest and heal so that when the window opens we are ready to embrace the opportunity to go through it. Daffy's pretty wise.
God's closed many doors on me in my life, some I believe were slammed shut. In hindsight, I am grateful because experience has taught me that life changes whether I am ready to change or not, and that faith will take me where courage fails. And so far, God has given me some pretty decent windows.

that's kinda what the transition from becoming sober to living sober feels like isn't it?. It IS like being in a hall, with many doors which may open at any time. Right when you may least expect it a door flies open and you step into the change you've created for yourself and life gets better! Good metaphor !

I spent so much time in the dark!!!!
I went to treatment and low and behold...the room they put me in didn't have windows!! I pleaded for a different room..to no avail..so i decided to make my own!
Collaged myself windows with lakes, streams, mountains, sunsets...and slept with the light on
Today i have a few real windows...they say expectation leads to disappointment....as long as i don't drink or drug today i can sit on my window sill and watch the beauty unfolding.
The light at the end of my hall, recovery!!
