Thus far and no further...
Thus far and no further...
Given that, as I understand it from the book 'Alcoholics Anonymous' 4th Ed. the alcoholics problem centres i the mind based on theirs and m own pride and self centered ego, during my 'drinking days' now, fortunately, a day at a time, passed.
I have found, on reflection that reflecting on this, taken from Job 38.11 in the Bible tells me a lot about myself in terms of what I was, where I was and where I am now in both my drinking and my recovery,
'Thus far and no further, this is where your proud waves must be stayed...' I've only loosely translated this and it's not the full text, which is worth reading. But it makes a very salient point in my recovery...as I hope it does for others who may read this.
