What,in recovery does friendship mean to you?

As I understand it, the term friendship means it exists where those involved providence each other with emotional support. Which can be anything from shared laughter to dealing with more serious matters....like recovery.

It is built on respect and trust.

So my simple question is, based on the suggestion that when you get sober you find out who your friends are.

Whatt, in recovery, does friendship mean to you?

Someone- who sees my potential when I do not.
Who sees the friendship as being more important than difficulties that may arise with knowing me
Someone- who never gives up and tries.

I love this topic. As I explain to people, friendship and indeed all of my relationships in recovery only include those who deserve a seat at my table. Whether other recovering alcoholics or normies, only people trying to live their own best lives get my time, attention and devotion. I simply do not allow folks who bring negative to my door or heart to get that space.

Excellent!

Excellent and thank you, those are two brilliant responses obviously from people who say what they mean and mean what they say. I couldn't have asked for more...
