For me, now well into my recovery both from alcohol and the events of eighteen months ago when completely out of the blue and nothing to do with booze or my lifestyle I experienced a very serious life threatening course of events that at one stage saw me spend a lengthy period in a medically induced coma all of which, in seeking advantage in the face of adversity. Has caused me to change my perspective on many people and things,including my life in recovery.

So that I constantly carry with me the Polish proverb to be used whenever people try to drag me into their nonsense,

'Not my circus, not my monkeys,' works every time ...
