The return of personal dignity...
In my 'drinking days', like many others with alcohol dependence I suffered with the associated feelings of fear, guilt, self loathing and low self esteem all of which notwithstanding he effects of alcohol robbed me of my sense of personal dignity and my identity as a human being!
My recovery has , over a period of time seen a lot of benefits health, finances and the ability to function in a cognitive manner despite the vicissitudes of life bringing with it the return, as a human being the return to personal dignity.
Together with the recognition and acceptance of the fact that all we really possess is good mental health which exists in our state of mind wherein lies the' Inner Citadel of Our Soul' (Pierre Hadot).
As Epictetus said,'We're all just little souls dragging a corpse around,' much easier done when carried out with personal dignity by anyone...
