Power of Acceptance
Power of Acceptance
When the world seems to be falling down around you, you can choose to fall down with it or you can choose a more positive path. Acceptance will put you on that positive path.
Fighting against negativity only produces more negativity. Yet when you accept what is, no matter how terrible and difficult it may be, you put yourself in a position to start changing it for the better.
Acceptance does not mean giving in or giving up. It means moving on, as in moving on ahead.
There is simply no point in fighting battles which have already been lost, nor is there any point in allowing the loss to continue to slow you down. The smart strategy is to accept it and then put all your energy toward a positive pursuit.
Acceptance does not mean allowing others to take advantage of you. It simply means that you look realistically at what has happened and allow yourself to see the positive opportunities that are most certainly there.
Once you accept what is, you are free to move positively forward. Once you quit fighting, you are free to start achieving.

Acceptance allows me to move out of the problem and into the solution, a better place of light for me.

Thanks , Ann
That's a good one ....Imagine that, light a candle in the dark. It's too simple
Kind of like putting the breaks on a run away freight train
sometimes. (mind strom) For some reason I can evaluate
better if my mind is not spining,
But even if I can't stop my mind from spining, I can
accept that my mind is spining so I'm no longer fighting
it. Then I get a brain fart or an Ahha moment and
accept the ahha moment as will. Like doing the simple
task of lighting a cadle in the dark.

Acceptance is the key.
Thank you Ann.......this gives me pause to look at what is really happening in my life rather than pretending that it isn't really happening.
It also leads me to understand that I must accept that other's have their own consequences and that I shouldn't interfere with them because those are THEIR lessons to learn.

Credit goes to Ralph Marsden Jr. He writes these, I just find them and bring them here to share. I too am inspired by his words, and find posting them a great way to begin my day.

Thank you for that- I think about acceptance a lot. When we are upset it is because some person, place or situation isn't to our liking. We have to accept what is, and know things around us are happening just as they should at that exact moment. Often it isn't the person, place or situation that needs to be changed, it is ourself. **Totally misquoted, but the thought is from the AA Big Book.

Acceptance, to me, means allowing myself to see things as they really are and not the way I wish they could be. Sometimes I get stuck in wishful thinking and then it takes a long time for me to find a the peace and serenity I seek.
Acceptance isn't always ease.
