Anathesia risks and PAWS
I was wondering. Having suffered from long term PAWS from substance abuse and used substances that "reactivated" my old symptoms, does anyone know if anathesia makes PAWS worse? I'm asking in case I need to have a procedure done to remove my gallbladder. The drugs they give you are powerful! I cant tolerate alcohol without getting killer hangover and terrible anxiety that takes a week to subside. Same with stimulants like caffeine. I dont even want to know what opioids and propofol would do to me. Pre PAWS I could handle all this, now, I dont know. Anyone have any experience? Thanks!
Hi Thompson
Can't answer your question as I'm not a doctor but I always make sure my doctors know about my addictive past and that they prescribe accordingly.
I haven't put a foot wrong yet and its been 13 years plus.

Hi,
Yeah, let your doctor know what your history is with substance abuse. Be honest and upfront with him/her about your concerns like you have been here. Protect yourself - you're worth it!
