To all ex addicts - I’d love to hear your success stories!

Brooklyn - I wanted to respond to this since it has been out there for a few days now, and maybe I can share some hope with you. A couple thoughts:
1) I am an addict in recovery. I will never be an 'ex addict' though. If I ever pick up a drug of any kind again I will be totally ****** from the first moment.
2) To be blunt - I don't have the balls to call it a 'success story'. That seems like it would be my pride / ego talking, and I tend to get force fed humble pie when my ego gets out of line. I haven't used in a couple years, and life is pretty good today. Some days are better than others, but a serious thought about using hasn't crossed my mind in quite a while.
There are lots of people that do recover. I see people everyday with decades of time away from a drink or a drug. They are people that are active in their recovery, and they are genuinely good people.
