I ended up making baked chicken and potatoes, corn, and a tossed salad. Ice cream sundas for desert. But we just went thru an ordeal...that's why I was gone for a while.

My youngest, picky eater refused to eat....wanted raveolis instead. I know I'm guilty of preparing a different meal for her if she doesn't like what we are having. My 24 year old got angry and started scolding her for not eating what mom made. My youngest daughter 9 ran away crying. So that set my older one complaining that I'm too lenient and that I don't make special meals for her or my son. I tried to explain that they don't have food issues...like my youngest. She's disabled. Anyway it went on and on...until I left the room. My oldest is right that I pamper her...maybe because of guilt? She is legally blind....no vision in one eye little in the other.....otherwise normal.

So dinner was ruined!

I'm not sure what the feeling in your mouth is you're talking about Mama. Would sucking some ice help at all?

I'm sorry things got so tense Clean. It can't be easy dealing with all of that.

Aww dang. I am guilty of the same thing. Neither of mine are picky eaters now but one used to be. So I understand. I had a two bite rule then I would serve something else, something easy to fix. Like ravioli

Dee the only way I can explain it is if you go without a cig for a ling time and you are just dying for one. But the cig usually relieves the craving. It doesn't though. I have tried candy, ice, food. Those things calm it but it's still there.

The only advice I can give, outside of the urge surfing thing I mentioned before, is wait it out Mama

It's uncomfortable, but it won't kill ya

You are right Dee. I just wish it would go away. It's been happening for days now. Is it A PAWS symptom?

Is it a drug craving? I've been doing so well except for this.

Thanks Dee. When I was active in my addiction, my 24 year old daughter held down the fort so to speak. She still takes on that motherole from time to time. Although, she is getting out more, having fun with friends her age....but when she sees something she thinks isn't right, she speaks up. They do respect her a lot. When I think about it she is right....it's hard putting together separate meals. I just hate conflict....would rather avoid it.

After all that she's sitting at the table eating what I cooked because my son told her she could have the ice cream if she at eats 5 bites. So I guess every things ok now.

I don't know what you can do besides distract yourself. I munch on candy too....more than I should...to avoid cravings.

Paws is generally later on.

I have no personal experience with these kinds of drugs or the withdrawal but I'd be surprised if there wasn't some connection.

Whatever it is, I think you have to try and think of it as a temporary nuisance Mama - you won't feel like this forever

I'm glad things are a little better now Clean - you sound like a great Mom to me

Mama it seems like a craving to me. Yours must manifest itself physically. I get cravings too...not so much pulling feeling as just wanting to feel "high".

Hi poppy! Happy to see you! Don't have too much fun now!

Thanks Dee.

Awe so sorry mama! Would something spicy help? When I was at my IOP there was a lady recovering from alcohol addiction. She would mix water with hot sauce and drink it. Yuck! But I guess it took away the craving for alcohol.

Why don't you swallow some vitamins....that's similar to swallowing pills.
