When can I jump off Suboxone?

Hey.
I've been on Suboxone for a few months now.

I only went to 2mgs of Suboxone a day at highest.

After a month I weaned down to 1mgs and stayed there for about a month.

I went down to .5mgs (or 1/4th of a pill) three days ago. So today's day 3 on .5mgs. Day two was worse than today and for some reason I'm adjusting super fast.

Moral of the story, I really want off this ****. I'm like taking a crumb right now.

When is it the right time to jump off? Anyone have more experience with this? I don't want to screw things up by going too fast again.

How do I do this right?

I'm sure others will be along with their experience soon. Have you read the older threads?

Hi JustSayNoo.

I'm not a doctor so this isn't to be taken as medical advice but I think you should make the jump when YOU feel like it's time. There's no one size fits all method for a painless suboxone detox.

I was on and off suboxone for over 4 years and jumped from 4mg over 6 weeks ago. Like you, I was just so ready to get off the s**t. I had/still have a mindset of "I'm gonna do this right now, no matter how bad it gets or how long it takes."

After being an opiate addict for over 5 years I came to the point of not dwelling on what it was gonna take to get clean and instead decided to just do it. It sounds like you are at that point as well. I was never good at tapering and I didn't like the idea of dragging the already-pretty-long suboxone withdrawals out any longer but whatever works.

Good luck.

Thanks. I actually found it a lot easier than I anticipated.
