24 Hour No Nicotine/No Smoking Club ~ Part 13
I had a log and frustrating day yesterday repairing a heating boiler, even had to phone the tech support line as I was at my wits end as to what to do next to fix it. Anyway, it was the first time in 5 weeks that I thought of buying cigarettes! On the drive home I realized how smoking was just like my drinking, lots of the same triggers and lots of "excuses" to start up again. But just like quitting drinking, I'm sure glad this morning that I didn't stop and buy that pack!
I'm using the nicotine gum as well Zura, started with the 4mg, but going to drop back to the 2mg for the next month then try to drop it all together.
Another 24 for me please, and thanks...

Exactly same for me abcowboy. Meeting with my daughter's doctors about her discharge from hospital, mental health. She's still not well. She was present at the meeting (good) but very confronting to witness. Heartbreaking, really.
Same old triggers. Thought about buying "just one" pack, but saw it for what it was worth. I'm so glad this morning.
Keep going everyone.

Day 12
Way to power through guys!
coz - hope your doing well @ 4 months I'm guessing it's alot easier!
sortofhomecomin - congrats on day 12!!
cowboy - I hear ya, coping mechanisms, it's hard work to retrain ourselves to go for the healthy ones or just sit with those feelings and stresses.
Steely - that's tough stuff, I know how much strength and energy that journey entails. As much as this gig is a struggle in the best of times I'm glad your doing so well.
Still cigarette free. This is hard but I'm glad I'm doing it. Gotta bit of a plan to get me through till the physical side of things ease off. Fingers crossed. Wishing you all a great weekend ☺️

Thanks Dee! You have a great one as well!
I participate on a couple other recovery forums as well, and one of the members mentioned that she was once on a quit smoking forum that used the word "NOPE" when a craving hit. "Not.One.Puff.Ever". Thinking I'll add it to my toolbox!
I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...
