One week sober

Hello all,

Well, for those who've I've met and posted with over this past week, thank you for all your help and encouragement--you've done more for me than you know.

I just wanted to say that today is my one week anniversary of being sober. I feel better than I have in as long as I can remember. I also had a second physical today and the numbers indicating liver dysfunction have improved significantly. My blood pressure is also in the normal range now. All I have to do is pass a health committee to get my new job, so please keep your fingers crossed.

Take care all.

Fingers crossed, Scotty.
Isn't amazing how sometimes, health returns so rapidly after we remove the drink from our bodies?
Best of luck, and pleased to welcome you, belatedly, to SoberRecovery

Congrats on the week and isn't it worth it? To see your body so diligently trying to heal after the abuse should be very encouraging. Keep giving it the help that it needs by staying sober, eating right, get enough rest, excercise and sunshine.

I am so happy for you!

Thanks again

Again, I feel a need to thank everyone again for your kind words, help and support. I have several friends here who are great and have been supporting me face to face. I'm sure between them and SR that my first week has been made much easier. Last night I almost slept straight through--something I haven't done without drink for as long as I can remember.

To all those who are struggling, hang in there, go to the doctor (this has given me such confidence--last week one of the blood tests was at 1062 (not quite sure what that meant, except it was through the roof), yesterday it was 586), and seek help and support. Humans are social beings and we are meant to help each other--don't be afraid to accept it--you will return it when you are stronger.

My struggle is just beginning as well, but I have hope and confidence that I didn't have 9 days ago. Every day is a new chance to do better. Let's help each other help ourselves.

Take care.

That is quite a powerful post. Good job. Great to see the growth. In just a week. Imagine how far we can go when we put our minds to it and ask for and accept the help we need.

Way to go BeamMeUp!

I'm about as green as you - only 11 days of sobriety here. I wish you the best. You are doing awesome! The first week is the hardest don't ya think?

Friday nights are the worst for me. I'll have to check back in here tomorrow nite.

Sooze here

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a little bit of help. I just posted a super-long intro to me and all my trials after registering, but alas, there seems to be no record of me anywhere! I'd really love it if someone could just let me know they're out there and then maybe tomorrow I'll write my letter again with details. Tonight, after making the effort to finally post, I don't have the jam.

Hey, I admire you all so much. Have been lurking for weeks, and am now ready to jump in.

All respect and all love due,
Sooze
