I have not heard anything from my Mom, Jean & Denise. I have faith in God that they are ok. After all they were with the Police. Just no word yet. I have called Jean's phone over a 100 times today.
Me and my older brother were crying on the phone with each other tonight. We are just so worried. I know for sure that her home is gone the road she lived on is now a part of Lake Ponchtrain.
There has been thousands who have been rescued off of roof tops. My son-in-law will be leaving for New Orleans at 3:00am this morning to help with the rescue mission. They asked people with small boats to go help with the rescue mission, they are doing this with our local Fire Dept.
We have over 2000 evacues with out homes in our small town. It is so nice to see all the good things this little town is doing to make these people comfortable.
I am keeping the faith that my family members are ok.
Keep praying for all the people affected by this storm. And be very very thankful that you have a place to rest your head tonight.

I have been watching and heard no mention of Sidell.
How awful that the house is under water.
Keep the faith... how proud you must be of your son in law. Ectra [rayers for his safety.

I just...saw a news clip on NBC about Slidell.
No power...no cell or land phones...no water
But.... Water is receeding... no fatalities reported..calm... no looting reported...residents pooling/cooking food... rescue workers poised to be there soon.
Let's hope this is a turning point!

Thoughts and prayers go out to the people {and animals} of New Orleans, Mississippi and surrounding Gulf states!!
IF, at any time in our lifes we need to find a way to pull together and make it through, NOW is it and I pray that they will find a way to do so! I also hope that other countries will take heed and send help as we have done for them so many times in the past!
Katrina made her way up to Ohio last night and so far it looks like she is moving quick enough that we might escape the flooding brought by Ivan last year, but still keeping an eye on it. Daughter is home sick today with the flu but I am gathering supplies together to take to the Red Cross tomorrow and also will be helping put together cleaning supply boxes to send. They really were a blessing to us during our flooding last year as all the stores in area sold out of supplies quickly.

Thinking about you all too....really hard to sit and watch this on tv...while I sit in my home warm and safe today. Goes to show just how vulnerable us humans are.

Day 3 and still no word. I called my local Police Dept for help and they gave me a contact # in Baton Rouge. But Baton Rouge has very limited contact with Slidell. They took there names down and said for me to call back tonight.
My eyes are swollen and my heart is breaking. But I am keeping my faith, and I am clean & sober today.
People please keep praying.

Oh my dear Janet......I'm crying right with you, and praying so hard. My spirit is with you we've known each other for a long time, never met in real....but it is REAL isn't it? I can feel you, my heart breaks for you.
