Ketamine
Welcome, Toddy, to Sober Recovery.
I've not been in the grip of ketamine, but I know the grip of addiction. Pot, meth, pills, alcohol.
But addiction is addiction and the "grip" is the addictive voice telling you, "You need this, want this..." whatever lies it takes to get you to use.
Stay strong. Stay close to SR. Make the coming year a clean one for you.

No direct experience but my son used ketamine several years ago. He used it frequently and became paranoid. He was convinced that an FBI agent was living next door to him and preparing to send him to prison. When I sent him messages on line - he wasn't answering his phone - he was convinced that someone was impersonating me and asked me numerous questions to verify my identity. Despite how delusional he was while using ketamine, he kept going back to it. Fortunately his supply dried up; he didn't stop using voluntarily. Congratulations on stopping alcohol. Are you open to 12 step groups? You might find NA meetings helpful. You also might check out the Substance Abuse forum here.

Good Grief! This sounds horrible with the delusions and all. I've only been hearing about it recently and was thinking ketamine was some new kind of health food supplement. I'm guessing you can't buy this stuff from Amazon?

Hi Toddy
Post - Reply - engage with your fellow peers here at SR and in AA daily, That is a recipe for success if you act on it.
Put the work in, get the rewards/promesses out of it.

Thanks everyone
I've just got back from a really helpful and insightful AA meeting where I got loads of support and understanding.
I hadn't been to a meeting for a while and it feels brilliant to reacquaint myself with the right mindset.
So, 51 days off alcohol and 1 day off ketamine.
