Any documentary suggestions
Can anyone provide any links or suggestions to documentary or personal stories regarding any and all aspects of alcoholism?
watching these has the effect of scaring me which helps a lot with abstinence.

Rain in my Heart had a huge affect on me. It is an old documentary but very relatable to how I drank. It is available on You Tube.
Another that struck a cord was There's something wrong with Aunt Diane.

I did a PBS addiction search and found this. https://www.pbs.org/search/?q=addiction 219 results.
Midton, I started a documentary last night but fell asleep half way through, so will have to finish it tonight. Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo (Mexican American actor). A little rough, but definitely on point.

I'm not sure if it was the same as mentioned above but there was one I saw about Whitney Houston. I think we had a lot in common. I was surprised. I would see her ideas for using and think wow, drunk me would have thought that was such a good idea! She was known to be really kind to her staff and fans, absolutely beautiful lady, really sad ending.
"Final 24" episodes are probably still available and free on YouTube. It follows the final 24 hours of the life of a celebrity with a lot of their life story and how they got there mixed in. I'm a big Doors fan and I really enjoyed the Jim Morrison episode. As an alcoholic myself even though I had a much different life and drinking habits, I think I had a lot in common with Morrison. For many years of my drinking i thought how could Morrison do heroin? What a tragedy, I drink and do crazy things but that could never happen to me. Then one morning after drinking, smoking crack and injecting heroin for the time. The thought hit me, could never end up like Morrison, huh?
I really enjoyed the stories of Chris Farley and Janis Joplin. I think they were a lot like me. I was born in 74 so I was a fan of Chris as his career was actually happening. Obviously Joplin and Morrison were gone before my time but I loved the music of their time. I liked Joplin's work in Big Brother I thought that band was really underrated.
Sid Viscous was another good one but even for an addict/alcoholic his life seemed pretty off the wall. It did really fit the music and how can anybody not love the Sex Pistols?
