Day 150! Maybe I'm Amazed
Hi Guys,
Day 150 and doing well. I never, in my wildest dreams, thought I'd make it this far. So yes, I'm amazed!
Liver on the mend as bloods came back normal, half way through my 12 weeks community re-hab programme and the future is looking far brighter. At least I now have a future.. Before going into detox, all I could see ahead of me was darkness, now there's a bright light to aim for.
A big thank you to each and everyone of you that has provided invaluable advice and inspiration, helping me move forwards! It's hugely appreciated

Being amazed at yourself is one of the great surprises in sobriety. Some might say self amazement must be narcissism, but it can actually be quite the opposite. There is an element of humility involved in admitting you never thought you had the strength or smarts to walk away from addiction. Experiencing this surprise is quite humbling in a "I can't believe I actually pulled this thing off" kind of way. Enjoy it. You are trading off shame and embarrassment for self confidence and pride. There's nothing but good in the experience.
