So I am at 7 days with no alcohol. While I didn't have a rock bottom and I rarely got drunk... my relationship with alcohol is something I didn't like anymore. The trigger for me stopping my daily 2-4 glasses of wine a night was migraines I began to get... I just feel so much better after not drinking for 7 days that I am going to keep it up...

Something really cool that happened last night was that the guy I have been dating for a few months said last night "I love you either way but being around you without drinking wine is a big difference and I like it a lot".... He has been sober for 16 years. He didn't see my drinking as a big issue before because I never went past a buzzed point really... but he did say it is really nice to have me fully present. I agree..It feels better to be fully present. It is so funny because I saw myself as being more self assured after a few glasses of wine but really I think I was less present and more annoying ... lol... It was nice to hear the validation from someone that has been around me almost daily for the past few months
