Good morning all.
Didnt catch up until this morning.
RIP Della

Mags your post gives me many thoughts of how it was in the beginning, day 1 December 1st 2020, now i have a sence that this is my new day to celebrate and yes a big one is here sooner than i would like😊 but to become sober is the best gift we can give ourselves and others. I much prefer to celebrate the newer day as i feel its a better birthday for me and has more meaning to it.
Have a great day everyone.

AL, my sober date is more important to me than my birthday too. It is a good gift , if not the best gift, we gave to ourselves.

Good evening Weekenders, quiet on the forum today.

London is predicted to have rain from about 10pm this evening. I hope they are correct this time, it is badly needed.

Evening Weekenders!

Sao, I really hope that those of you in the UK will soon get some reprieve from the heat and drought.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I look forward to laying my head on the pillow later tonight. But first some winding down watching my all time favourite female tennis player, Petra Kvitová in action in the US Open and perhaps treating myself to some after dinner chocolate.

Thank you to everyone whose posts/messages here on SR helped me in some way today.

Red, so good to see you here, you too travel bug. Red, I’m so glad that you are doing so well! Did you ever make the recipe I sent?

least, glad you are getting better. You too alpine.

PJ, Roxy looks like a great pal for you, such a light for you in your dark winter (emotionally). Great how she’s settling herself into your home, and fantastic long walks you are taking.

Mags, Gee wiz, MORE surgery? Sorry you had a tough time getting back home.

I love what you said here…..newbies and oldies, take a long look at this——-such truth….

Then again addiction warps the mind, promising you everything and delivering the opposite

Manta has that on her signature, something very similar. She hasn’t posted since mid August. Manta, if you are reading this, big hugs and prayers to you, my friend.

Hello everyone else! CK, holy moly ! 300 weekends, FANTASTIC

Im on a big trip, spotty internet. Layover in Fiji.

Yes, it would be good to hear from MantaLady and Vinny VMAN too.

All the best on your trip Free2, it sounds wonderful.

My all-time fav! Tnx, Sao.

We see them in Denver next Month. >$440-/Seat. But, very possibly our last large Show. After having had Tickets a few Years ago, COVID postponed seeing them then. We jumped on this 2nd chance when they resumed touring.

My Techno Pal tells me that even Sports is being recorded to Hard Drive in 8K resolution. Then, that insane resolution is scaled back to match whatever the viewing Screen is capable of handling. My point - and I do have one - is that Concerts are going to be uber-astounding in Home Theaters. Dolby Atmos is launching as thee multi-Channel Audio System for Vehicles, too. So, all this 'stuff' at Home will soon be hard to beat. Just in time for me to not need seating assistance at Concerts!

I found this interesting, since I've been listening lately to more of Bob Moses...

Good Morning Weekenders

CaptainHaddock, I always enjoy putting my head on the pillow at the end of a day too. Recharge all our ‘batteries’.

Free2bme, enjoy your trip.

I text MantaLady a few days ago but not had a reply. I’ll text again later. Hope she’s doing ok.

MesaMan when you say the 8k was scaled back it reminded me of Bruce Lee. I was told , and not sure how true it was, that his moves were so fast, they slowed the film down so the viewer could see. He was pretty fast anyway as I recall. He must’ve been a blurr at normal speed.

Love to all Weekenders xxxx

GM Mags et al. It's 9.45 pm here in Seattle, time to hit the sack.

Big argument with wife for a petty reason. AV showed up and said, dude your head is hot. Come I will relax you. I just totally ignored and had a good dinner. It will only make matters worse. Anyways hope tomorrow is a better day. Good night from Seattle.

Morning Weekenders.

Thank you for the greeting, SoberLeigh .

CBS, I’m glad to hear that you are also a fan of Petra Kvitova. Besides for her game, it is her personality and demeanour that appeal to me. She seems to be a genuinely nice person. As you might know she has overcome adversity in that she was badly injured in a violent house robbery 6 years ago which almost ended her tennis career.

Anyway, time to see if I can make a dent in the pile of work that is sitting on my desk. Early retirement seems such an attractive proposition that I might just buy a lottery ticket this week.

Please send my best wishes when you text Manta, Mags.

I have an emergency dental appointment this morning due to a small infection. My dentist wants to refer me to a specialist to have some of my very old crowns removed and replaced. Thing is there is no guarantee they will be able to put the new ones in till they take the old ones out. Obviously I am dubious as I might end up with no teeth!

I guess at least I would still be able to eat buns, they don't take much chewing .

Good Morning Weekenders

I hope everything goes well at the dentist Kaily.

I too hope that MantaLady is well. I had noticed that she hadn't posted for a few weeks.

Great song by The Who sao. Definitely one of their best.

I keep forgetting about the US Open being on at the moment. I did watch Andy Murray's match the other day though and enjoyed it. For now being 35 and also having a metal hip he did very well!

I hope everyone has a good day.

Kaily, all the best at the dentist this morning. The good thing is if you go to specialist at hospital for your new crowns they’ll be free!

Hi Robbie

I’m still full of cold so another steady day.

Mags, I'm not sure if it is a hospital. The dentist said there was no guarantee they will even take me. Today will just be antibiotics I would think.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Our morning walk .
