Four months down, a lifetime to look forward to!
Woke up in a soft bed inside an air-conditioned house.
Rolled over to see the love of my life sleeping soundly.
Had cool, clean water come out of the faucet and heat up quickly for a nice cup of coffee.
Rubbed my dogs’ ears. My Labrador smiled at me! My basset hound never smiles, but he’s happy on the inside
Listened to rain on my roof, glad that I was dry and grateful for the respite from summer heat.
Washed, dried, and folded clothes that fit.
Helped my healthy children pack our bags for a family camping trip.
Went for a brief (very sweaty) run around the neighborhood.
Logged in to SR to read others’ wisdom and struggles.
About to make lunch.
AA meeting this evening.
All in all, an un-exciting, perfectly lovely 120th day of sobriety.
When I stopped using, I was so full of fear and shame and loneliness. Today I am top-to-bottom FULL of gratitude for this life. Can’t wait to keep on living it!
There is HOPE, folks! There is peace away from addiction. We just have to do some work to hold onto it!
Love to all,

It's all those simple things that matter.
in a way I think we appreciate it even more than someone who never had a drinking problem would.
It's like how a blind person developed other senses better.
The camping plans with family sound great!
Enjoy
