Celebrate
Celebrate
I got some good news yesterday. I called my brother today to tell him and told him I celebrated yesterday because of the good news. He said, "You don't drink". LOL He and his wife are full blown alcoholics and he couldn't fathom how I celebrated without drinking. A few years back I'm sure I thought the same thing. It's taken some time to realize you can celebrate without alcohol. Life is good.
Hi LB.
I once thought nothing would ever be fun again if I quit. Even though celebrating with alcohol had become pathetic, & left me with an empty feeling.
I'm so glad we got free.
Congratulations on your sober time, & I'm happy you had good news.

Not just pies and ice cream but the pizza and the wings, burgers, ribs. I use to think the alcohol was the main course of celebration. Without the alcohol i can actually remember enjoying the foods. My enjoyment of the foods doesn't have to revolve around the alcohol.
Its like a football team getting rid of a star, me me me type player. You don't see how getting rid of a guy producing the bulk of your offense is going to make you any better. Its like we are afraid to find out what else is on the roster. It should have been obvious that maybe, just maybe the rest of the team might function better without this distraction.
