500

I’m 500 days alcohol free.
I don’t think about it at all anymore. But I’ve come to realise that I need to learn how to manage stress better and to take care of myself.

Yes there is a lot of stress at the moment. And I do think about alcohol when things get bad. A good nights rest is the best medicine for just about any drama I’m going through.

Sometimes I can’t believe I’ve reached this far. I always thought I would never be able to stop thinking about drinking. Time. Enough time away and anything’s possible.

Have a great Tuesday!

Congrats on 500 Silver, that's awesome!

I'm much earlier in my sobriety than you but I agree with you on the importance of handling stress as well as we can and learning to take care of ourselves. I guess that goes for everyone, but it's probably more important for us, and as time passes also anything else anyone feels the need to address. For me it's more than just these two and I'm tackling something new once I feel I have a reasonable start on the last item so I'm taking it easy on myself. So far so good

Congratulations Silver

Its not possible to live without stress but it is possible to live with out drinking.
I try and stay grounded. My problems always seem less when I apply the right perspective

Happy 500! I haven't checked, in a while, but I'm somewhere around 300 days and have also gotten to the point where I rarely think about it except during times of stress or when I'm at a party watching friends get drunk around me. I also work in a Brewpub but it just doesn't bother me much at all, anymore, to see all that beer being consumed around me. Getting to this point sure has made the quitting easier.
