Chronic relapser who made good - 12 yrs today!

I was a chronic relapser. Kept relapsing. I thought I'd never accumulate any sober time. But with the help of the members here, who didn't give up on me, and practicing gratitude every day, I am now celebrating 12 yrs sober.

So to all of you struggling to stay sober - it can be done. Just keep trying until you get it or die, cause one or the other will eventually happen.

But practicing gratitude every day helps a lot.

Congrats big time!!! I second every word and sentiment as it echos my story as well. It is indeed doable and you are great living and breathing example of exactly that. Thanks for being you and for being here to spread the message.

I was surprised by the effect of taking the time to be grateful. Some people probably do it automatically. I had to make time for it. Now it's just a part of me. Congratulations on 12 years. You've got this!
