As if to drive home the message - ok I hear you!
So there was Part one; The beautifully adorned and very eye catching tables of wine poured out into glasses being offered after the event in the local Church last Wednesday and my own momentary struggle when offered one.
Part two; the next evening the drunk man we found fallen on the pavement , half frozen, only yards from our own house who we took home - as someone here pointed out , like a warning; the Ghost from 'Christmas yet to come' -
then Part 3 - just in case I hadn't got the message - was this morning delivered at our local Church - ' 'Be so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day does not catch you unexpectedly, like a trap........Be alert at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place...'' and then very oddly someone handed me a card which said ' He cares for you'
All I can say is. I hear you!
And I pass these message on, for they are not just for my ears.
I guess we are in the time of Advent when such messages and signs may be sent to us - perhaps they have been sent to me before but I was never clear headed enough to see them, perhaps I didn't want to see them -
