Free2bme888’s Moving Forward Thread 1, Pics of No Name Hike
Thanks for those wonderful pictures. I got a kick out of the tulips. It had to have been some hiker that carried a couple of bulbs up the trail and planted them as a joke, I would guess. By far, most of my serious hiking was done in Montana, but 5 years ago, I did make a trip to Colorado and hiked up some trail near the Continental Divide, but I can't remember the name of the trail. The country did look kind of like your pictures. I also remember 5 years ago, Colorado forests had been devastated by the pine beetle and looked primed to ignite into a holocaust. Montana went through the worst of that 25 years ago or more. It happens every 70 - 100 years or so.
Free2b - These made my day & took me out of my head for a bit. Stunning photography & wonderful job on capturing a gorgeous area.
What a great adventure you had. A soul healing experience. Loved it!

Hi Free2bme888,
Thanks for posting this thread and pictures, seems like you had fun. I plan a vacation in Colorado later in the summer and a good portion will be hiking, have not decided yet if I want to go solo or invite someone else. I was literally working on my plan yesterday, before even saw this. Also in a broader sense, part of my recovery plan (for expanding the fun) is getting back into hiking with some regularity, it used to be one of my favorite activities, originally my parents got me into it very early in my childhood. Of course I neglected it a lot during my drinking years. Even planning hiking is a good AV-repellent I find and also scheduled a shorter trip for later this coming week, just in NY where I live. It seem like you are quite serious about it.

Robbie, just under 8 miles, or about 12.5 kilometers
OtP, I really like the bridge too. I saw singe marks on it, but the fire team really worked on saving it, and I’m so glad the hike wasn’t destroyed last year.
Next are some pics on the way home, Rocks are cool, not the kind you crunch and eat in an alcoholic drink, these give me much more pleasure.

This is along the highway, the Colorado River, getting full of rapids from the snow melts. The canyon walls are magnificent with its rock formations and layers, and makes one wonder about the age and formation of the earth.

There is a double layered highway, because the canyon is so narrow here. Yes, the sky really that blue here, and the clouds really that white.
