Feeling much better today after my COViD jab. Yesterday I really felt like death warmed up and where the injection was felt like I had been pummelled with a baseball bat. Tired today but feel sooo much better than yesterday.

Every once in a while I try to watch British or Scottish TV shows and often I have to turn on the subtitles just to understand what they're even saying, let alone know what it means.

Welp, another Friday. Another Pup Pic of MISTER 48 lbs. [22 kg].

I'm getting into this Pup-like schtick of Life not changing all that much, and being comfortable with that Serenity. When the going gets tough, I go with the familiar. Music. Daily Exercise. Notice something new around me. Make a new Travel Plan to somewhere. Think about something different. When I return back to my Core, that's my Grounding that keeps me on the Rails. There's so much 'noise' around us these Days, distractions leading to stress are easy to get sucked in to.

Solar Storms are supposed to slam us this Weekend, so I'll find a Website for Aurora watching later today.

Space Weather.com

I'm too busy relaxing to drink, so away to the Dog Park now in fine Weather we go...

None of those series cover the north though Vman!! If I go to London or down south they can’t understand my northern accent or phrases 😂

Pleased to see a lot of us are getting vaccinated.

MesaMan, Gorgeous pic of Mesapup. I like that....when the going gets tough...going with the familiar.

Bim, Yeah Robbie was spot on..I was meaning a big parasol like umbrella, but I do tend to call all of them brolly. Hubby doesn’t understand the Scottish accent especially Glaswegian.

Willow, hope you’re ok, take your sober tools with you on your weekend trip. Enjoy yourself.

Just got back from an enjoyable afternoon with a few other people and a barbecue. It was a nice change.

In the north we ask “want a brew” which to us means a hot drink of coffee or tea. But down south a brew just means tea. Dinner to us is lunch, and the evening meal is teatime. Down south dinner is tea lol. For such a small country we have such a range of dialects and regional variations I bet it is so confusing for those that are not from here! X

Oh. Of course. I was gonna say!!

Nah, I know nothing. Do you guys have "brunch?" That word really rubs me the wrong way since I worked brunches in TGI Fridays and it was all the free (cheap/rot-gut) champagne you could drink.

No, of course. No one abused that?!

Brunch we do have but it’s a big city thing. If I said “brunch” in a local northern town they’d probably call me a witch and burn me at the stake haha. Same if I asked for a skinny latte haha!

You have that Aussie blood Venus so I know you get how complex the brits are on such a small island x

Robbie ~

The inimitable MesaPup is 6 1/2 Months old. I got him a Tracking/Exercise Collar. It showed him taking ~13,000 Steps yesterday. Kind of a Fit Bit device, but for Pooches. Fortunately, we got in/out of the Dog Park early today. The Wind is really howling these next 2 Days, and the Dust from just-plowed Fields Is like outta some SciFi Movie.

When I worked 2 Trade Shows back-to-back in urban Shanghai, my hired Interpreter told me they couldn't even understand Folks from 60 Miles West in 'rural' China. So strong was their accent. Seems to be the case in about all the Countries I did High Tech Biz in. Why wouldn't it be, eh?

I spoke very slowly and deliberately in High Tech Training Classes, and got kudos for that method. And, I skipped all the jargon like 'let's cut to the chase here', etc.. I also used the same simple Modifiers repeatedly, like: high Voltage, or low temperature. This was very mentally-draining work, actually. MesaMate picked me up at the Denver Airport one Trip. I talked to her this way while walking to Baggage Claim, and she stopped suddenly to ask: 'What the f*** is wrong with you? You sound like an idiot'! I had a good laugh, and snapped back into my speedy, synonym-rich Speech. We still laugh about that one.

And, thanks for fine opener, Mags.

Who knows what Singer Chris Cornell of Soundgarden would think of this version, but it dovetails nicely with the Solar Flares coming our way starting tomorrow...

When The Wire was first shown I had to Watch it with subtitles but by about series 3 I was OK. Odd really since a number of the actors in it are from London.

I have tried watching the odd French drama (Spiral for eg) without subtitles but I have to give up after a short while.
