Day 11 and the drinking thoughts have arrived
I knew it was just a matter of time before these thoughts would show up!
I haven't been feeling so great physically the last two days and not to my surprise the drinking AV shows up on a Friday afternoon!
I know I can't drink but needed to share this!
stay sober my friends

Tell that lying voice that you DON'T DRINK ANYMORE!! You can get thru this, and every time you get thru it sober, you get a little stronger. I have faith in you - have faith in yourself.

11 days is brilliant. Those drinking thoughts were bound to come, but as Dee says it’s what you do with them. They’ll last a few more weeks or months unfortunately, but they fade over time. Keep occupied and those daily feelings will pass. You’re doing great.
This really is a great opportunity to build those sober muscles. Learning new coping skills is hard, but its a must if we are to build long term sobriety. I relied on alcohol to make me feel better, or not feel anything at all. When I was sick it was even worse.
It's not a matter of IF the AV will show up, its WHEN. Sometimes it whispers, sometimes it shouts. Sounds like you were expecting it, which is good. You came into this with your eyes wide open, knowing it would be a struggle. Trust me, it is/was for all of us.
Stay vigilant friend, it will pass if you don't give in. It gets harder every time we do.

Yep, had many a chuckles over the AV. The way I have always looked at it is that the cravings did not last as long as in between the cravings, just a matter of getting through a craving which usually should not last that long. One craving at a time.
Our inner world is so fascinating with thoughts and emotions. It seems like I can go into so many different worlds of emotion and thought in just an hour.
The thoughts of drinking pass. Most thoughts pass. We all can learn to find healthier thoughts. It just takes time. Time and perseverance. Great job posting. Keep on moving forward.
