Day 10 - taking charge of things !
I am walking around smiling to myself as I am soooo proud of ..well..me ! This time two weeks ago I was trembling wondering how to placate my son with his most recent demand for huge amounts of money. Since then, I’ve got a non molestation order, blocked him, sorted out my finances , secured a great new contract, reconnected with my friends, met my lovely new neighbours, made progress on my tapestry project and made a fitness plan ! Feeling rather proud of myself ! :-)
Fantastic ICDT! Really great to hear the joy and excitement in your voice.
I would also encourage you to not push too hard in early recovery. Make time for just being in the moment and appreciating life.
You have earned it! And be vigilant for that AV.. it will talk to you at good times and bad.

Keeping busy is what sober folks do.
The additional energy/time we have from not drinking has to go somewhere, otherwise it turn into restlessness.
I am at my best these days plodding through tax numbers or figuring out how to get the wifi back up.
Back in the drinking days details were so tiresome. Now they seem to free me from my obsessive thoughts.
Thanks.
