10 days

Going solid but not great. I have no real desire to drink, just feeling quite flat. Anxiety through the day and over thinking work stresses. If I remember right this started to become less of a burden after a few weeks last time I stopped. Maybe even peaked at the 2 week mark. Keep on keeping on as they say.

I have been going to bed early because I've had enough of the day. The early wake ups that follow are alright tho, Ive been making the most of my 'me' time before work and whilst everyone else here is asleep.
Gone are the days of the 15 minute up and in the car hungover off to work.
keep well SR people. I'm am grateful you are all here finding a way through this jungle.

Yes, keep going. It'll smooth out as the days go by. Might be a little up and down for a while, but eventually it gets better.

At 10 days, my cravings were becoming fleeting annoyances, but manageable for lack of a better word. It was around 10 days when I first realized I was going to actually quit. It was a breath taking insight, knowing it was actually possible to never drink another drop without having to whine about it.

Congratulations. You opened the door to the library. Now you can start learning what else you need to do.

10 days is a milestone, at least for me. The first time I ever tried to quit, and more than once after that I remember making it to the 10 day mark and failing. At that point you're physically free of the alcohol, but subject to fragile mental states as you have noted. It's important to take really good care of yourself - good diet, good sleep and plenty of exercise. Are you exercising? It really helps with the anxiety and improves sleep.

Great job - you can do it now if you are vigilant for that AV and avoid temptations.

Starting day legs 11 following a great night sleep and some inspirational messages from you hero's. No jaw clenching mental anguish this morning which is a nice way to start.
my new position at my job I am now now I charge of running the job and staff. Maybe not the best time for added anxiety and stress but, I know I can't do this role as a drunk so on the flip side it's another reason not to drink.
Even so, I don't want to drink.
If or when the idea of having a drink or 2 does float around my head I have promised myself to wait it out and read all my SR posts from when I first found this place. Surely that will give me some perspective as I have been painfully honest when writing here.

Have a good day all. It's a beautiful world out there if u take a bit of time to look at it. No need to numb it.

I know that get ready in 15 minutes and in the car to work, hungover, all too well. I also, in early sobriety, just put myself to bed early sometimes to stop the witching hour chatter from the AV begging for drinks. It’s bedtime, look, you’re not getting any drinks. I agree the morning makes it worth it.

Keep it up it continues to get better.

Congrats on your time. Those first few weeks are quite the experience.
I am an early riser myself. Those quiet hours before work really help to set the day in the right direction.
You are doing this! Congrats on the new position!
