I'm going to MIA for a little bit!
Hello, everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know I'll be here a bit less for a week or so. Guess it was bound to happen eventually, but after 35 years without an accident of any kind I got into a helluva wreck just after Xmas. I was coming back home and hit a patch of ice, skidded off the road and totaled my car! And I only had a few payments left!
I was of course sober as a judge! And while my car took a beating I wasn't injured at all. Thank you, seat belts! Still dealing with insurance but I bought a new car, and Monday we will have a meeting at work to plan our first full program back after being shut down for Covid. So I'll be fairly busy for a week or so. I'll still pop in, just won't have quite as much time as usual.
Again, I really dodged a bullet! It easily could have been much worse. I think the HyPo was pretty surprised when I walked away under my own power!
And needless to say, it's nice to not have to worry about getting hauled off to jail!

Ouch, sorry to hear about the accident MOS. Sounds like a lucky escape
I am so keen for the police to stop me and breathalyze me, I lived in mortal fear of that before I stopped. Just to have the conversation:
'When did you last have a drink, sir?'
'27th February, Officer'

'When was the last time you had a drink?'
''About 7.30pm, Officer. Sometime in 2012' 😂
I'm glad you were unhurt (and insured) Myth, if your car was a total write-off I'm sure it must have been scary. I wonder what percentage of drivers involved in accidents at this time of the year had been drinking?
If I ever start fighting in the Octagon, I'm gonna start a thread entitled "I'm going to MMA for a little bit!"
Seriously, I always enjoy your SR posts, MythofS. Will be looking for more when you return.
