It has just occurred to me that I could watch the cricket without a beer or 50 now.

I watched the West Indies vs Australia, and a drunk bloke asked me to marry him.

But he didn't bowl this maiden over.

I had a few coffees at the SCG and the complex beside it, and if I recall, the beer was $10! Yet another reason not to drink

Indeed Hodd. And those tiny plastic beakers! What a rip off.

I was on "The Hill" with all the other peasants. It was a great day.

I love the cricket. Poetry in motion.

It's not as good as it used to be tho. But still, nothing like a good run out. Or take it, centre stump. Plumb. I'm about to trip out. Stop me, before it's too late. Haha

A long time ago I was in girls cricket at high school, when no high schools offered cricket to girls. We had a lesbian PE teacher who bucked the rules. She was great.

Oh, me days at Lords. 😂

Hi Be123,

First off, congratulations on your milestone. Thankyou for sharing your sobriety journey with us in the boards. I’ve been seeing your journey unfold from the first posts and it’s very encouraging to see how well you are doing with your sobriety.

Sorry Be123. I got a bit off topic, started raving on to Hodd. Stepped out of my crease.

As a cricket tragic yourself, I'm hoping you'll understand.

Well done Be.

We're all batting, hey?

Thanks torn, I'm just plugging away!

In terms of cricket, for whatever reason, the lock downs and bio-secure bubbles has coincided with some great test matches. I'm not sure it's a causal link but it is very noticeable how exciting quite a few have been in this last 12 months.

Engalnd away in India next up - that's tough

Any cricket will do. Test vs backyard. It's all pretty exciting when runs are being made. Caught behind the garbage bins. Over the fence. Who cares?

Pretty angry, ashamed, at racial slurs directed towards Mohammed Siraj by idiots in the crowd, here. Steve Smith still being accused of cheating. I don't know that he was, but when he did it was a total shame job.

I just really love the game. But find it not as good as when Sobers was a boy. Sir Garfield. Best all rounder. All the greats, no more.

Seems like money is to be made now, and it's just not the same.

Womens cricket taking off well though.

"Play up, and play the game."

The January 2018 Sydney test was the most recent game I’ve seen in person or on TV.

Since I quit drinking, I haven’t got the time for cricket

Sorry Be123 for derailing your thread with all this cricket talk

333 is great. Sounds like you’ve cracked it for good.

Oh no, dont publicise this too much, you'll put half of England off sobriety. Haven't got time for cricket...I'm choking on my Earl Grey!! 😂
