Re: Needing some support please.

Similar thoughts for me Snoozie. Going through a rough time at the moment.
Don't do it aussie girl. We'll only wake tomorrow filled with pain and regret. And that feels so dead set bad. You'd have a better chance petting a croc. Start the "Big Wet" R&R band instead.
Everything is going to be alright so long as we don't drink. You know this in your cotton sox.
My thoughts are with you Snoozie,

Yeah stay with us as well Steely - its natural - and normal - to feel sadness in grief.
Alcohol just impedes that process,
We're here for you as well as Snooz,.

Thank you so much everyone. I appreciate each and every message.I felt a sense of relief posting. It truly does help.I slept in til 4.40 pm today!!!! Crazy. I didn't drink. Now I don't know whether to have breakfast, lunch or dinner lol.
But I think it was the release of sharing my fears and urges that just allowed me to relax. It's so nice to wake up not hung over for a year and a half
Thanks everyone , you're such a great bunch xxx

H.A.L.T equals hungry, angry, lonely, tired.
All these can become triggers for us to slip back into old behaviors. Coming here and talking aboutthem helps as well as taking action on them too.
Thru out my own recovery journey, if i'm tired at any given time of the day, I will try and rest for maybe15 minutes to reenergize myself. But not too long asit would interfere with my sleep at night.
Of course, if you need more sleep, then make sure everything else is in order, taken care of so it on your mind when you close your eyes.
Like, take care of family, cleaning, cooking, just whatever is needed for the day or moment so you can close your eyes in peace and rest your mind.
If you are hungry then learn what to eat that is healthy and satisfying or something for a quick pick me up, energize you. Everything in moderation. Even sleep.
If you are lonely, you need not be because SR is here or your family, a friend, someone who will lift your spirits and make you smile allowing the weight of restlessness, irritability and discontent melt off your shoulders.
If you are angry about something, come talk about it to get some helpful suggestion to work around it instead of thinking alcohol would make it better. Because it wont. Make sure that alcohol isn't in your home. If it is, then it will always be there as a temptation. It would be to easy to grab, drink and then the rest will follow like, shame, guilt, resentments.
We all have struggles in life, but with a recovery guideline that you use in your life each and everyday and in all areas of your life, then you will be better prepared to reach for those helpful tools instead of poison.
You lift so many of us up with your kindness. Your care, understanding and support. Now, we can return all thosewonderful qualities back to you so that you can regain strength to continue building a strong recovery live upon for yrs down the road.
We are here for you Sweet Snoozy.

Support with all of us wonderful folks together for everyone in recovery needing help is HUGE and absolutely WONDERFUL. Isn't it? We need each other to lift us up in good days or bad. Whether we are struggling or at peace.
A Genuine Camaraderie between us all.
Hip hip hurray...!!!!

Thanks Cityboy thanks all.

I have depression, no surprises there. & getting tested for thyroid function due to excessive fatigue and other symptoms.
So the ball is rolling now once I change medication and have my tests , so that's a relief
Thanks everyone xxxx
