OK, so not unemployed then, leaving your job to follow your dreams. xxxxxx

(even if your dream is to no longer work.... ).

I see you becoming a grower of beautiful fruits.
And trees. s

Kewl Pix!

Below was a recent Morning out the Kitchen Window. Then, the Manure hit the Oscillating Air Movement Appliance.

MesaDog came running in across some Ice build-up in the shade of the large Porch after communing with Nature. He slipped, and went down hard on the Stamped Concrete Patio. Tore a rear Leg ACL [Anterior Cruciate Ligament]; pretty much just like any Athlete. So, after major scrambling last Monday, he's in for Specialist Surgery in 2 Weeks with a Dog Doc who does nothing but these repairs while rotating around to various Vet Offices.

I look for the up-side these Days. He checked out just fine in his Annual Exam and X-Rays, and can tolerate Anesthesia just fine at age 11. No Cancers, which Goldie Dogs are known to develop with age. No snapped Hip Bones. So, Gratitude Vibes it is!

Pricey Surgery, but we don't care. Our Debt-free Lifestyle comes in handy at times like these. The main conundrum is that MesaMate is booked for minor Shoulder Surgery next Week ~5 Hours away. So, I decided to slip into my Nursie Outfit, and care simultaneously for everybody over the next 2 or so Months. No biggie, really, in Sobriety. Planning and detail should make it all manageable. Prep for what I can. Just roll with what I can't. More House and Trailer 'stuff' will get done, so that's all good. We 86'ed a Gal Pal Visit slated for late April, and our Geezer Calendar is now clear for plenty of 2-legged and 4-legged Rehab.

The Skeleto-Muscular kind, that is...

I need practice posting photos so I don't have to look up the instructions every time. So please indulge me for a few pix from my weekend in NYC. I am working, so for now I'll just try one:

The above was the sunset 15 Feb 2020 from the bedroom of the apartment I stayed in on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It shows the East River, with the Manhattan Bridge (closer) and the Brooklyn Bridge (farther away).

That is a mighty fine view from your kitchen window! Vey scenic and beautiful. The view from my kitchen window is less scenic - a small garden (mine), a backstreet with cars parked up and houses opposite. Not quite the same...

Morning Weekenders

MesaMan, best wishes to MesaMate and MesaDog I’m pleased you’re of sober mind and body to carry out your nursing duties. I love your way with words.

Vinny, it’s coffee o’clock here too! Enjoy.

jr, brilliant photo, hope you’re enjoying yourself.

Woke up with a start from weird dreams earlier. Funny old things are dreams...

Hoping all friends, and absent ones are well and sober.

See you later with the new thread.around two and a half hours.

I absolutely get this Vman! I did the same and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. However after 18 months sober I felt like a new person and decided to return to that kind of work and relapsed. Still doing that kind of work and I am now on my 8th relapse in 4 months. It’s not the job that makes me pick up but the environment and stress the job creates for me puts me off balance, drains all my energy leaving me with little in the tank to keep on the right path. Really happy to hear you’re making big changes and doing what is right for you for a change xx

As eluded to in my post to Vman...relapsed again on Tuesday. I have decided that I can’t really call it a relapse anymore as it’s happened too regularly in a short space of time. The days or week between drinks is not sobriety, it’s just a few drink free days till the next drink so I consider it as I am actively in addiction right now. It sucks.

Anyhow, hope everyone is doing well and take care xx

I do KNOW of at least 2 conspiracies that were aimed at me.

My parents lived on the coast- about an hour's drive from Adelaide near Victor Harbour- migrating whales annually swim so close to the coast my parent would complain they would be kept awake by whale song. Yet I never saw one- they are using advanced space alien technolomology to thwart my effort to see them

Caravaggio painted a picture of David holding Goliath's head. I drew it in charcoal as part of my studies last year- and he purposely made it a difficult painting to draw all those centuries ago, just to annoy me.

MantaLady, I think you’re very brave to come here and talk about your relapse.
Environments affect us, I’m sure of it.
Being in a place that doesn’t feel right can’t help.
Is there any way you can change your place of work?
I know jobs don’t come easy nowadays but I remember you saying you taught scuba diving...is that something you could pursue again or am I talking out of my hat.
