starting over again

Hi there. Today's going to be my last day 1. I was briefly a member of the site years ago when I was feeling pretty hopeless about my situation. Since then, I was fortunate enough to have about 4.5 years of sobriety before relapsing last year. It's been over a year now and I have not been able to make it past 10 days since. This has damaged my relationship with my girlfriend to the point where I don't think we will ever recover. Guess I'm just looking for some good vibes from this wonderful community again.

I'm about 4.5 years sober, what made you relapse?

Thanks.

Thanks everyone!

D122y it was a combination of a few things I think. Stressful job. And I don't know that I ever addressed my issues that drinking was covering up. This time around I'm hoping to try things differently. Hopefully with some therapy.

4.5 years is amazing ptown. You can get there again. I am living in Day 71 and one of the things that really scares me, but also really helps me, is hearing from folks with long term sobriety who drink again. I appreciate you coming on here again and helping us newly sober.

It does get easier I think! I was at a point where I didn’t think about it much. That’s also the dangerous part though. I let my guard down a bit and here I am a year later. Best of luck to you and thank you for the support
