congratulations and welcome Saoirse
I found it hard to envision too, but I took it day by day...committing to each day sober......
after a while with a long string of days forever didn't seem so unattainable

Eventually, you just don't think about drinking, and 25 years isn't a bigger deal than one month. In fact, the most important benchmarks for me were the earliest ones. One month was a mind blower. As you move on, you recognize several years as a lot of time, but it no longer carries that hard to believe amazement. It's maybe not as giddy, but it's still every bit as rewarding, and I'm still grateful that I don't drink. Deeply grateful.
It was like that for me once. At two weeks, I knew I was done with drinking, but I still couldn't imagine one year. At one year, it was hard to imagine 5 years, even though I knew I was done.
