Survived the first 36 hours :)
Made it through the day and night. Phew. Slept like crap in fits of course, but there was a serene sense of accomplishment there, and that was positive.
Now thank goodness it's the weekend, which is much easier for me. A big part of my job is tasting wine, as I own a chain of wine and liquor stores, as well as being a critic and reviewer for a national beverage alcohol magazine. Can be very tempting sometimes to swallow instead of spit on a hectic day. It's hard, but I can do it.
I'm too old to change careers and my family's livelihood depends on it and all of our capital is invested in it.
Looking forward to conquering day 2.

Congrats on 36 hours! Keep going. Are there support groups for people that have to work in the alcoholic beverage industry? Do something positive for your recovery everyday. Keep posting. Great job committing to Sobriety.

What about the pot?
And - I work in the restaurant business. None of us have to drink, literally, as part of any job if we choose not to .... I help lead a large and growing industry group (all F&B so feel free to consider yourself in the numbers) that carries the message that we can get and be sober and stay in the "alcohol" business. PM me if interested - we have 11 US groups and are growing, so if you are in the states LMK.
Taste and spit is something some people I know choose to do - usually not immediately. ultimately, it's up to you whether or not you want to be sober, what kind of job you have, and everything else. Good luck.
