Hi Delilah and Dee, I am fine. Believe it or not there was a large period in my life where I was very disciplined and driven. I applied that mentality immediately to this situation as to not let spin out of control. I drank as an emotional response to something I viscerally disagreed with. I've moved on and am looking forward, not backward. Hope you all are doing well too. Jeff

I believe you're disciplined Jeff.I am too.

I find when I apply that discipline (even self sacrifice) to my recovery the AV doesn't stand a chance

I'm glad you're moving on. That's not always easy to do. Give yourself some credit.

I have been fired multiple times and usually go straight from that job to a bar. The jobs were not what I wanted to be doing and I used my dismissal as a great excuse to get drunk. It happens to the best of us. My sponsor got fired from his job last year. Not because of drinking but a disagreement with management like yourself. He managed to get a new job the next day so avoided relapse. But he was thinking about drinking....

If you're a drinker like me, nothing is a valid reason to drink.

Sometimes things may get on to of some of us and we might hear that voice, but recovery is all about hearing that siren call and staying sober anyway,
