I'm gonna guess the cold might be more of the issue. Your body trying to fight that as well as recover from the sauce congrats on three weeks ✌

You should be feeling better soon. Have you talked to your doctor since stopping drinking? If the fatigue continues, that might be a good idea, but I suspect you will feel better soon.

Yes, way to go on 3 weeks!! I think it's very normal to feel exhausted at first. Your body is healing and that takes a lot of energy.
Wouldn't hurt to get some blood work done though. Drinking depletes a lot of vitamins, minerals etc.
Rest up, hydrate and congratulations on 3 weeks!

Took me over a month to get to feeling some sense of normalcy..if I was home and tired I slept. If I had some plans and didn't want to go, I didn't go. A quote I heard the other day that fits the wants/reality of instant gratification; " 10miles into the woods is 10 miles to get back out." (Or something like that)

It took me over a month too but everyones different. The important thing is yes its common, and yes it does pass loulou

of course, if you're concerned, seeing your doctor is a good way to go.

It's three weeks today for me. For the first time I haven't felt exhausted all day, but I do go to bed early. In fact, today I was so sharp and focused, it was a bit scary!

YES.

It takes diff time for diff people and a lot more than 3 wk for me.

Don't drink, do healthy stuff and keep going. Only solution.

Totally normal but as said it's good to check with your doctor just to cover the basics💗

Oh God, I hope so!

I totally get you. I'm in my fourth week and I am shattered all the time. Lay down on floor and sleep kind of shattered. Just keeping the faith that I'll have more energy at some point.

In the mean time, self-care. Lots of sleep, decent food and I'm trying to take it easy on the caffiene and sugar(which is hard.)

Think this is common and we'll come out the other side of it 🌞

Gabe - one thing I went thru in early sobriety (first couple months, in this instance) was a "shattering" exhaustion too. For me that meant a kind of must pull the car over now, lie in the back seat kind of thing! Or fall on my sofa instead of making it to the bed kind of thing. It was rough. It passed tho. Diff kinds of tired have marked my progress. It gets better on the whole for sure!

Oh my yes...the body goes through enormous changes on road to recovery...like many people said...rest, hydrate, eat nutritiously, fresh air, check up with your RN/Doctor. It's all for the good. I'm just past 5 weeks and nap each day but also getting full night's sleep. Caffeine intake a bit too much I'll have to deal with it. Been jittery before lunch. Being around people gives me a boost of energy too.

Yes! I am completely exhausted. Almost unmanageable at times but I also work full time shift work (physically demanding job) and have two very young children. So that contributes greatly. I do feel though that much of it is my body repairing itself. I pretty much need a nap to function daily. I am 32 days sober and have a doctors appointment in a few days and am starting a light workout routine so maybe that will help

It's very normal and will go with time. Expect 1-3 months on average.
