Optimist riding out a craving :(
Optimist riding out a craving :(
It's my bewitching hour and I'm doing my best to keep busy. Got the Roomba going, granola in the oven, cabbage soup on the stove and bam, "I need to run to the store for more oatmeal." I do need oatmeal but not today.
Maybe I should eat more, but I'm not hungry at all.
Praying for sure.

yeah, them dang voices. Hey, we've got a GREAT idea....no no, hold on, just listen, trusssssssst usssssssss.
i'm many years out from my last using event and every once in a while, a voice will still pop up........So yeah, we've been thinking and wouldn't it be great IF we did just a little <<fill in the blank>>?
and it still takes a second to think it thru.....hmmm, not sure....WAIT a damn minute....NO, absolutely not under any circumstances. nice try tho, now skidaddle!
thoughts of using happen to addicts, sober or not.
cravings to use again happen to addicts, sober or not.
minimizing their impact is key. minimizing the amount of time we allow them to be in charge is key.

Thank you all for the support. I turned off the soup, finished up the granola and let the Roomba roam while I took my husky for a walk. She wasn't overjoyed as it was a bit warm but we rode it out. Phew.

Thank God...you will be so thankful tomorrow looking back...
You may even wonder tomorrow how that craving even happened....I hope it passes...You did all the right things....I was never good or optimistic about cravings...Good job!
